Google has launched recently an interesting new search tool for scientists: Google Patent Search, which allows finding U.S. patents, issued at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and their full text, from patents issued in the 1790s through those issued in the middle of 2006. To date, the USPTO has issued about 7 million patents. U.S. patents issued over the last few months are not included. Neither are international patents, but Google is looking forward to expanding the coverage in the future.
